Community Group Collaboration & Media Materials - Sutherland Shire Council

Sutherland Shire Council activated the program through community building, use of media and promotional materials, as well as collaboration with the Menai Men's Shed. Watch the video presentations to learn more. 

Ingrid Delfros, Safe and Inclusion Places Officer, and Gerard McDonough, Media Officer, at the Sutherland Shire Council reflect on their participation with Garage Sale Trail. They have made the program possible locally through community building, use of media and promotional materials, as well as collaboration with the Menai Men's Shed.

Community Building & Engagement 

Sutherland Shire Council's Safe and Inclusion Places Officer, Ingrid Delfros, presents how Garage Sale Trail encouraged community building and groups to get involved. They liaised with the Menai Men's Shed and formed a group sale to further promote the Men's Shed Association and the community. This presentation was recorded in a shared council webinar with Huon Valley Council, City of Stonnington, and Inner West Council.

"The opportunity Garage Sale Trail gives us to build social capital in the community. We are encouraging street, apartment block and community group sales. We see this as a great opportunity for neighbours to interact and get to know each others and any areas of concern in the community can be addressed."

Media & Promotional Materials
